GRAIN Journal examines how to build a life through intention rather than momentum, where clarity becomes structural, environment outweighs motivation, and the right conditions make meaningful work inevitable.

The path so far...
I spent the first part of my life as a professional artist. This taught me about discipline, pressure, and creative ambition. I intimately experienced the creative process itself, the gap between vision and execution, the years of repetition before anything coherent emerges, the way excellence demands everything and gives back selectively.
Consequently, I studied psychology, conflict resolution, and cultural studies, drawn to the deeper mechanics beneath execution and creativity. I wanted to understand the systems and patterns that shape how we move through life, not just experience them.
In my work as a performance psychology coach, I have worked with senior professionals, entrepreneurs, company directors, educators, and creatives who sit at the intersection of ambition, aesthetics, and pressure for 10 years. Including Head of Performance and Development at a major UK creative organisation.
In this capacity I worked with professional artists and creative teams on the psychology of sustained excellence. That experience led me into creative direction and cultural strategy, working with agencies, studios, and independent creatives.
Alongside writing, I work with creative founders and agencies. You can learn more about my GRAIN consult here
