GRAIN is a digital journal exploring the architecture beneath an intentional life.
Path
I’ve always been inspired by creativity and people applying their talents, passions or desires to a vision larger than themselves. How vision meets reality, how pressure shapes our choices, and how we navigate the gap between who we’ve been and who we’re becoming.
I spent my twenties as a professional dancer. That world taught me about discipline, pressure, and creative ambition: what it means to carry a creative life in your body, how identity forms under intensity, and how easily people lose themselves in what they’re trying to build. It was my first education in human behaviour, the bitterness of disappointment, and the will to express yourself despite the turmoil of excellence.
After retiring, I studied performance psychology, conflict resolution, and cultural studies. I enjoyed learning about the deeper mechanics beneath ambition, creativity, and the unseen systems, emotional patterns, and cultural forces that shape how we move through life.
I aspire to build my life through intention, not momentum. Through the deliberate choices we make about what we give our attention to and how we spend our time. I'm trying to cultivate clarity as a form of power, to see things as they are rather than as I wish them to be. More and more, I'm learning that the environments I design for myself matter more than any burst of motivation ever could.
The right conditions make the work inevitable. Great work demands coherence, the kind that holds us together internally and externally. I'm love to see people build ambitiously without losing themselves in the process.
Alongside GRAIN, I love working with people who are building things, companies, creative work, ideas, and themselves.
